Alessandra Eramo (IT)
voice / electronics

Performed & recorded in Berlin (2014) by Alessandra Eramo.

Mixed by Alessandra Eramo and Wendelin Büchler.

Mastered by Kassian Troyer.

7" Vinyl | 7:00 min | core 008

Limited edition of 150 hand numbered copies.

Cover artwork "Sibili" by Alessandra Eramo is a large-format drawing as graphic transcription and gestural interpretation of the onomatopoeic word.

Released on occasion of the performance night FLUMEN SOUND at museum FLUXUS+ Potsdam.

"This composition by Alessandra Eramo shows for the first time a vocal interpretation of eight onomatopoetic words from the Manifesto of Futurist Music "The Art of Noises" by Luigi Russolo (1913).
Alessandra Eramo creates harmonious miniatures of rough beauty and embodies urban soundscapes using her voice. Her very original approach to onomatopoeia as well as the humorous, yet profound interpretation of the original material reflects her intense exploration of sounds of industrialized and de-industrialized places of present time. The combination of extended vocal technique, sound poetry and brittle fragments of electronics such as Theremin, tape machines and contact microphone puts a contemporary spotlight on futuristic sound art, it condenses more than a century of bustle and noise and captivates the listener until the last "noise".

The record is part of Alessandra Eramo's sound performance project ROARS BANGS BOOMS - 7 variations for voice and onomatopoeia. The first variation was performed in may 2013 at the Gallery Haus am Lützowplatz in Berlin. Other variations of the performance were shown at specific locations in Germany, Italy and Austria (2013-2014):
- Echo Bücher Berlin
- University Bari Aldo Moro, Taranto
- Errant Bodies Berlin
- Museruole Festival Innsbruck
- Museum Fluxus+ Potsdam

"Thunder, Whistles, Booms, Grumbles, Snorts... These onomatopoeic words recall the different sounds of the modern industrial landscape. As part of the Manifesto of Futurist Music The Art of Noises by Luigi Russolo, they are the starting point of this performance work. 101 years after Russolo's Manifesto, I have written seven sound performance variations for human voice in which noise not only becomes a Leitmotiv, but also turns into musical material itself. I embody these noises. I hear them, I perceive them as urban soundscapes of the present. I transcribe these sounds in drawing and interpret them with my voice and with my body in order to reveal their beauty, while playing with the expectation and imagination of the audience."" Title:Toke Picabia
Artist:Delmore Fx
Format:LP
Label:Das Andere Selbst
Genre:
Experimental Electronic, Misc Berlin
Price: €15,00 EU (incl. VAT) €12,61 non-EU

"Delmore Fx is the solo project of Elia Buletti, who started to work under this moniker towards the end of 2010 just before moving to Berlin, where he currently lives and works as musician as well as editor for his limited edition label Das Andere Selbst.

The sound of Delmore fx is based on digital and analog studio recordings that are continuously and ephemerally restructured through improvisational instant rearrangements operated on mixer, loopers and effects. Midi studies, recreational low-fi, unreal humming and high tones breakouts gather in these meticulously unsteady architectures. There is a narrative element, something like a perpetual digression.

The ever changing quality of the arrangements has obviously been a challenge when Elia decided to moderate those unpredictable structures in an album. Toke Picabia is the transfer of a tumultuous dreamlike matter into a thinned out more contemplative shape."

Vinyl LP, 300 copies.
Running time 29:56 33rpm.

All tracks by Elia Buletti.
Recorded on january 2017 at DDR studios in Wedding, Berlin.
Master: Paul Jones.

"A wordless graphic novel, made in linoleum cuts, depicting a meeting of three figures: a man, a woman and a bear.

The story consists of nine chapters that occur alternately between the forest and the city, which creates two parallel plots connected to each other. In each episode the characters appear and dissolve without portraying a story of their own, and eventually sharing the same destiny. The reader requires to connect the dots of the different episodes, in order to complete the storyline's interpretation.

The book was printed from the original linocut blocks."

"Antico Adagio was originally intended to be a double album, but was eventually scaled back to a single disc, and this is the unreleased album from the 1978 session. Before an aberrant idea of progress and workaholic ethic ludicrously sped up our daily lives, even in the hectic city of Milan it was possible to “play slowly” – with no pressure, simply following the path your art was showing you. After a classic artistic journey and an experimental stint with Aktuala and other brilliant fellow musicians (like Franco Battiato, above all), Lino Capra Vaccina, near the end of the 70s, recorded Antico Adagio. It was an amazing album, anticipating countless future experiments in the field of new age and world music but also in avantgarde and electronic music. Apart from a few violin parts and the extraordinary vocal lines (sung by Vaccina himself and Juri Camisasca), Antico Adagio is an album fully built on percussions. But, at the same time, it’s the farthest thing from the typical idea of percussions. You won’t find a single trace of African or primitive beats: instead, this is a collection of rather long, subtle and thoughtful compositions, crafted with vibraphones, marimbas and gong. Together they create a work which will remain unique – both in Capra Vaccina’s discography as well as in a more general sense.

From Kieran Hebden/FourTet liner notes: «There are records I have found in my life that I was almost wishing existed before hearing them. Recordings with new combinations of sound and atmosphere I knew could be wonderful to me if I ever discovered them, and then on discovery the sound was even better than I could have imagined. I felt this way when first hearing music by Alice Coltrane (Journey to Satchidananda) and Don Cherry (Organic Music Society) and I also felt it with Antico Adagio. The combinations of the rhythms and melodies resonate with me in a very clear way and I feel transported by this music every time I hear it.… I first heard this record when it was posted on the Mutant Sounds blog a few years ago and am very happy to see it get another release. The music is timeless and brilliant and maybe there are other people out there wishing for a sound like this too who will now have chance to find it».

Available as two individual LPs: Antico Adagio (DS27/1LP) and Frammenti da Antico Adagio (DS27/2LP), which features previously unreleased material from the original 1978 sessions."

Genre:
Historical Recordings, 1970's, Avant Garde, Free Jazz, Electro-Acoustic, Experimental Electronic, Noise, Classical, Analog Synth, Misc Italy
Price: €23,50 EU (incl. VAT) €19,75 non-EU

"These recordings document the brief and intense life of a group formed at the beginning of the 1970s within the fertile and stimulating cultural environment of the town of Padua (Italy), where electroacoustic and computer music pioneer Teresa Rampazzi had started, a few years earlier, the NPS Group (Nuove Proposte Sonore - New Sound Proposals).

Arke Sinth was a group of four young musicians and artists, who decided to perform their own music, an experimental venture into collective composition and unusual timbral associations, with possibly no references whatsoever to previously existing music genres. The rigorous music of Arke Sinth gave a sonic body to meticulously planned graphic scores and at times was associated with visuals created by one of the members of the group, Michele Sambin (one of the first Italian experimental video-artists).

Arke Sinth also tried to closely link collective composition and performance, making also use of improvisational elements but refusing the premises of the American live electronics experiences, for which composition was simply the “trigger” of an almost immutably informal and/or automatic process (David Tudor, David Behrman, Alvin Lucier), or alternatively it was “dissolved” into free improvisation (MEV). Together with Michele Sambin on cello and saxophones, were his brother Marco, an accomplished saxophone player, Giovanni De Poli on EMS Synthi A and Alvise Vidolin on electronic organ and mixing. De Poli and Vidolin at that time were both pupils of Teresa Rampazzi, and shortly after the experience of Arke Sinth were involved in the foundation of CSC, the Computer music centre of the University of Padua, where both still serve today."

Title:Immagini Per Diana Baylon
Artist:Teresa Rampazzi
Format:LP
Label:Die Schachtel
Genre:
Historical Recordings, 1970's, Contemporary Composition, Electronic Music, Misc Italy
Price: €23,50 EU (incl. VAT) €19,75 non-EU

"The long and mesmerizing single piece of analogue electronic music that develops over the two sides of the latest Die Schachtel "silver series" LP is a soundscape composed by Teresa Rampazzi for the artist Diana Baylon's 1972 exhibition at the modern art gallery "Il Fiore" in Florence (Italy). Diana Baylon (1920-2013) was a cross-disciplinary artist active in abstract and programmatic art. In the summer of 1969 she appeared – along with with Alberto Burri, Pablo Picasso, Jean Dubuffet and Lucio Fontana – at the Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto exhibition «Maitres et jeunes d'aujourd'hui».

Italy's equivalent to Delia Derbyshire, Teresa Rampazzi (1914-2001) has enjoyed a resurgence of recognition in the past decade and has taken her well-deserved place as one of the pioneers of electronic and computer music. A former avant-garde pianist (having taken part in performances with John Cage since the late 50s), Teresa was exposed to electronic music "exactly as its birth” – as she once said during a concert of recorded tape music in Darmstad in 1952. She decided to produce electronic music at the age of 50 and she founded the N.P.S. Group (Nuove Proposte Sonore), which became one of the main Studios active in Italy alongside Pietro Grossi's in Firenze and Enore Zaffiri's in Turin. Unlike Grossi and Zaffiri, whose work took a structured and systematic approach, Rampazzi's music explored sound densities, drones and textures, often integrating environmental sounds and undulated electronic patterns to create organically structured soundscapes.

For the 1972 exhibition, Teresa Rampazzi realized this long 'soundtrack' (in her words) to be broadcasted in loop. Sounds were made with the analogue equipment she used at the time, revealing her stylistic tendency to create a pulsing, drone-like sequence of harmonizing electronic tones. «The inner space of the exhibition» – she wrote – «is made of sound, for the whole duration of the exhibition. The work is composed by a series of sound events, with both informal and aleatory features, in a continuous flux, and there is no planned predetermination in any of the various sections. This choice has been made for the sound space to adjust to the sculptor's plastic and loose images» .
Immagini per Diana Baylon was in fact the third time Teresa Rampazzi realized music for an exhibition. The first was also the very first experimental composition that Rampazzi and Ennio Chiggio composed in 1965, a sound collage for the opening of an exhibition of the Gruppo Enne at the International Biennale d'Arte in Venice. The second soundscape piece, Environ (1970), was realized for the presentation of a 360° round modular couch in foamed resin designed by Chiggio, presented at a furniture shop in Padova in 1970. The piece is featured on the Die Schachtel Musica Endoscopica LP by Teresa Rampazzi released in 2009. Immagini per Diana Baylon is the eigth LP release in the Die Schachtel series dedicated to the pioneers of early Italian electronic music and will be soon followed by Mario Bertoncini's Arpe Eolie LP and Arke Sinth, a radical electronic music enesemble active in Padua in the late 60s."

Title:RIP
Artist:Mike Diana
Format:Book
Label:Divus
Genre:
Illustration, Comics, Underground Art, Eroticism
Price: €31,00 EU (incl. VAT) €28,97 non-EU

24 x 16 x 2 cm. 128 pages. More than 112 pages of cartoons and drawings on fine heavyweight paper.
"A new book of horror, fun, unexpected adventure and disaster by Mike Diana. Recent cartoons and drawings with some rare findings from Mike’s archive. You will find stories such as exotic drama Chosen Survivor, urban myth about the secret behind the fence, druggy, maddening, raving Drink Cat Party, Firebrat desperately looking for good deeds, The Key about nobody’s winning, deadly disgusting Sex Shack and a lot more. All that on strong paper you can hardly rip by crumpling with laughter or shaking in fear.

Mike Diana is the only American artist who has been arrested and prosecuted for his work. That happened more than 20 years ago and today he’s one of the most internationally known underground cartoonist. Nevertheless, his style remains unblunted and his reputation continues to be that of deadly dark humor with unexpectedly weird punchlines."

"Mike Diana‘s work is powerful, upsetting, offensive, and sometimes unpleasant. His art style is simple, primal, and dangerous: like EC Comics retold for today by Gary Panter. But there‘s an honesty to Mike‘s work that has always made me want to read it, even when it disturbs me. Art should afflict the comfortable and disturb the complacent, and Mike Diana‘s work does that in spades. He‘s been arrested for his art, he‘s been sentenced for his art, and a local police force was even charged to make 24 hour random raids and spot-checks on Mike‘s living space, to make sure he wasn‘t committing art in secret. Now you can find out what all the fuss was about." Neil Gaiman

"Mike Diana‘s style is one of the most unforgettable in contemporary painting and drawing; the bright bold colours of western advertising are combined with rough black lines drawn with the audacity of a Japanese master to form the twisted characters that populate his world. Diana became known in the early nineties for his terrifying child-like drawings published in his Boiled Angel papers. Originally made privately on a copy machine and released in only sixty copies, these comics are now hunted by collectors ready to pay thousands of dollars for only a few pages. These drawings have grown over two decades into an amazing body of work; the main theme of which is a cautionary one, a warning that the adult world is a sick and twisted place. Mike Diana never wanted to be a serious member of the rational adult world, because in his opinion the neo-liberal community of elders he chooses to reject is guilty of the same perversions that the conservative media routinely employ to identify as ‘moral failure’. Mike Diana’s work portrays the adult as a hypocritical sanguinary monster, and the kid as his honest cruel opposer." Ivan Mečl

Price: €33,00 EU (incl. VAT) €30,84 non-EU

The Immortal Man Bag Journal of Art. Complete collection of printed editions. Featuring Man Bag No.6 for the first time. Text about the adventurous history of Man Bag written by Frank Gaard and Stu Mead. Extended by a photographic documentary section. All that on more than 160 pages on fine heavyweight white and creamy paper. 15 x 21 x 2 cm.

Excerpt from Frank Gaard's introduction:

"Man Bag had grown out of the Artpolicecomics magazine project which had begun in 1974 by the late 1980’s after an especially vicious attack at The Minneapolis Institute of Art had struggled to continue to publish the Artpolice zines. Because of these attacks and subsequent aftermath I had lost my teaching position at the art school (Where I had taught Fine Arts for 16+ years) which was associated with museum and my ability to subsidize the project was considerably reduced. The Artpolice ( a non-profit tax exempt corporation 501(c)(3). IRS-USA ) was a collective with regular contributors and many artists passing through the pages. The United States was passing through a phase of censorship based on various right wing ideas about what art should be subsidized by the U.S. Government. Robert Mapplethorpe’s photos and Andre Serrano’s famous “Piss Christ” were the prime targets of the zealots anxious to eliminate any government subsidies to art that type. Suffice it to say that Man Bag grew out of this period as a satirical and political example of free speech particularly in the realm of taboo sexuality. We were underground enough to pass without much notice and we built a small network of contacts and associations built out from the former mailing and subscription lists of the Artpolice Journals. So in a sense the attacks and subsequent outcomes had begot the Man Bag.

Important as well had been Stu Mead becoming a regular contributor to the Artpolice zines in the late 1980’s his art pushed the project towards a more extreme position which brought other artists to the project gay and straight who wished to push the project towards the wilder and sexier side of expression. Ironic too as Artpolice had initially found its voice as a free speech comic based in fine art (particularly in drawing) with a politically incorrect view of the contemporary art scene which had been dominated by minimalism and conceptualism. Man Bag brought back this outsider viewpoint on sex and art with more focus and with more of a pornographic edge. The sex proved to be essential to Man Bag its very essence was to be a return to a sense of origin where we found our inspiration and arousal."

"CHECK OUT is designed as an exhibition of verses, photography and sound.

It is divided into sections (chapters / tracks) and has three main granularities, i.e. excess, exposure, and death.
More specifically:

– Excess as an event of exceedance that stretches time and sight. Silence winning back space, clouds thickening. Cata- lysts of attention like objects underwater, recurring numbers or shapes – swaying branches, TV series charging a day with three hours too many. Excessive care or procrastination, high sense of alertness: “CHECK OUT, that is notable / happening”.

– Exposure like in Latin’s ex·ponere, “to pose oneself out”, implicitly meaning interruption, abandon: “CHECK OUT of here, get exposed”. A sudden moment of loneliness blurring thresholds with the surroundings. Lengthening shadows, darkness falling. Staying longer than a visit paid.

Allowing for things to happen to the exposed, exposure is handled by the project in connection to indulgence, acceptance (accept scratches, precipices), and

– death: “Amen, CHECK OUT”. It is possible to die of exposure, i.e. dying of not being in the own Place of Nature. One can die of excess, too, that is dying of augmented presence. And then possibly, there is a death of resilience or slowing up, which is a mournful one.

All along its sequence, CHECK OUT seeks to promote detachment, generate networks of meanings beyond a specific context: Narrow framing, tones overflowing. Nevertheless, these are still sounds and images, somehow highlighting existence.

But there are glitches, asymmetries if images and sounds are of people, which might be caught while stiffening already – watching the carousel from the outside – thus trimming them into frames beyond context can sometimes incur the paradox of capturing more of death than life happening."

Featured here, "Caim" is a new track from the pair which arrives before its upcoming three-track tape is released sometime next month. The single is made up of a screeching, splitting bell tone that wavers above locked grooves and dubby synth undulations; the whole thing is pushed along by a sterile book-kat beat. The grinding sounds and whirling blasts of white noise position the track directly in the realm of acts like Sandwell District and Richie Hawtin's digressive and hypnotizing Plastikman moniker." Price: €19,90 EU (incl. VAT) €16,72 non-EU

"The niche occupied by libraries in the history of Italian music is full of amazing stories, such as Rotary Records’ one – actually one of the most interesting and peculiar. The label, created and led by renewed composer Amedeo Tommasi, released seven albums in just one year – between 1973 and 1974 – of material ranging from futuristic experimentations to classic and jazz (the latter being one of the biggest passions of Tommasi).
He wasn’t just the boss, but also played piano and electronic instruments in all the records he released; he then took care of all the brilliant artworks (the original ones can be easily found online) and of pressing duties.
The first three volumes of the series were released in 300 copies each, the other four in a humble press of 100 each: numbers that show how rare these records are nowadays, and how scarce their circulation was at the time.
Tensione Dinamica by Narassa (an alias of Sandro Brugnolini), is the first of two Intervallo releases dedicated to Rotary’s experimental vein (another one will follow soon).
This lost gem by the duo Brugnolini/Tommasi is a piece of work ahead of its time – pretty much as it happened to the almost-twin album Tecnologia -, and it’s characterized by a lighter use of technology and a more traditional approach. Creative tension (be it static or dynamic, like the first two song titles of the album) is always headed toward experimentation, even if touches of jazz and of the great tradition of Italian libraries can be found in the album. Vacuum (in two versions), Conflittuale and Filterband introduce electro touches, but the biggest surprise comes with Spleen, the opener of side two: a perfect track to be sampled for hip-hop – wait... did anyone say Mobb Deep? – and totally crazy, for the time it came out. But Tensione Dinamica is also enhanced by the precious liquid piano and the synth mumbles of Subtone e Fantapolitica… and let’s not forget the invention of Stereolab in Aflogelia. Totally amazing!"

"Massimo Catalano (who died in 2013) enjoyed a brief stint of fame after joining the cast of Renzo Arbore’s cult tv show "Quelli della notte", but he risked to be remembered only for those little, funny sketches he delivered on camera. Indeed, a few people are aware of Catalano’s great skills as a jazz trumpet player (he also played with Louis Armstrong in his career!), which he first nurtured with a band called Flippers (also featuring Franco Bracardi on piano and a very young Lucio Dalla on clarinet).
For him, the step from jazz to library music was short and easy (even if he wasn’t so prolific) and he started working with his friend Remigio Ducros – composer and piano player, husband of Daniela Casa and author of some rare and extremely refined libraries’ albums. The joint efforts of Catalano and Ducros produced two albums only: "Idee 1" (also featuring Casa in a track) and the beautiful "La Fatica" – a weird, hard to file item, mixing avant-garde, proggy moods, electro rhythms, jazz and musique concrète.
It’s almost impossible to guess what Catalano and Ducros were looking for, while making this album – but, despite the troubles and difficulties during its recording process, listening to "La Fatica" is a breeze. It’s a continuous surprise, actually, since every track features unexpected tricks and changes. And, exactly like in other Intervallo releases, also in this case the titles evoke the noise of machinery, the fascination for science and technology, the beauty of factories: "Catena di montaggio rapido" (Rapid Assembly Line), "Sesto capannone" (Sixth Depot), "Officina meccanica" (Mechanical Workshop), "Terapia della fatica" (Strain Therapy), "Saturazione" (Saturation), "Esperimento 320" (Experiment 320), "Esami di laboratorio" (Lab Tests), "Dopo la tensione" (After The Tension). Can you say industrial music?"

Title:Cibernetica
Artist:Peymont
Format:LP
Label:Intervallo
Genre:
Historical Recordings, 1970's, Experimental Electronic, Misc Italy
Price: €19,90 EU (incl. VAT) €16,72 non-EU

"Back in 1971, when this real gem of electronic experimentation was released, the term “cybernetic” was used to refer to the future. Or, at least, to an obscure science in the hands of a few experts, conducting experiments in rooms filled with huge electronic calculators. Automated controls, auto-regulation, information theory… those were abstract, uncommon and rarely used concepts which would change the world in a few years – and, in our case, deeply influenced an album which, almost half a century later, remains a mystery.
The greek origin of the word used as a title (kybernetes, which indicates the pilot of a ship) is not very helpful and we still don’t know who is hiding under the Peymont alias. For many years it was commonly believed that Peymont was Piero Umiliani in disguise, but some of the most respected theories explain that the nickname was used to hide the identity of Luigi Malatesta – composer of film scores, music libraries and, oddly enough, the hymn of the italian political party Democrazia Cristiana – or the world famous Egisto Macchi (a more fascinating and plausible thesis).
The 13 tracks featured on Cibernetica, indeed, bring to the mind the most abstract and experimental compositions of Macchi; but if we fell into the pitfall of living this listening experience as it was a treasure hunt, we’d make a huge mistake.
Indeed, this music is constantly a means to research and explore: we can almost see the author and the musicians – whoever they are – locked in a research lab (“Laboratorio di ricerche”) while assembling thermoionic valves (“Valvole termoioniche”) and artificial kidneys (“Reni artificiali”), using an oscilloscope (“Oscilloscopio”) or an electronic calculator (“Calcolatore elettronico”), discussing about analysis and distillation (“Analisi e distillazione”), electronic impulses (“Impulsi elettronici”) and automatism (“Automatismo”). If you are careful – and we’re certain you do – you can also listen to the noise of a teletypewriter printing these notes, in a future perfect time."

Title:Impact - Synthesized Sound And Music
Artist:H. Tical
Format:LP
Label:Intervallo
Genre:
Historical Recordings, 1970's, Experimental Electronic, Analog Synth, Misc Italy
Price: €19,90 EU (incl. VAT) €16,72 non-EU

"From the very first second, "Impact – Synthesized Sound And Music" is a difficult, icy release, embracing many cornerstones of what would become known as industrial music. These 16 sonic experiments are totally devoted to synthsizers, which are the main architects of whirling escapes, white noise and sonic landscapes in the mood of early Warp releases.
"Impact – Synthesized Sound And Music" was originally released via Armando Sciascia’s Vedette label in 1971, under the alias H. Tical: it’s a really peculiar library music album, filled with incredibly contemporary sounds and atmospheres. Unlike "Distortions" by Blue Phantom, whose supergroovy and almost hard-prog tracks are all credited to H. Tical, this is a totally different sonic planet – and it’s difficult to figure out which kind of images could be paired with such an extreme experiment, which is a one-of-a-kind effort in Sciascia’s more traditional career as a composer. Moreover, the musical delirium is enhanced by the usual beauty of the titles – such as "Colluvium", "Metastasis", "Trigonos", "Intercosmic", "Rubidio", or "Laser", mixing Latin and English languages. This is a wonderful, alienating album made of “static” music, totally estranged from the idea of movement. A true desert island album – or, better said, an abandoned planet album…"

Title:Into Olymp
Artist:Laurent De Schepper Trio
Format:2×LP
Label:Karlrecords
Genre:Jazz Rock
Price: €24,90 EU (incl. VAT) €20,92 non-EU

"After their furious debut “Aquanaut”, Leipzig’s LAURENT DE SCHEPPER TRIO release a mature follow up that sees the genre-blending jazz / indie formation heading for new peaks.

4 years have been passing since the LAURENT DE SCHEPPER TRIO (who actually became a quartet in the meantime) unleashed their highly praised debut album “Aquanaut”: “great band” (De:Bug), “worth listening and important” (Wolf Kampmann / Eclipsed) or „stunning magnificence!“ (Subjectivisten) were some of the opinions on the Leipzig-based formation whose sound blends fluidly the progressive now-jazz of NILS PETTER MOLVAER, TALK TALK’s ethereal art-pop and the structural freedom of SONIC YOUTH. “Into Olymp” – the title as well as the artwork document an extended band trip to Greece in october 2015 – again turns out a corybantic stylistic balancing act, a brilliant symbiosis of jazz and indie, mature serenity and vital dynamics, sublime finesse and high energy. Complex arrangements, propelled by bass (ISABEL FISCHER) and drums (LARS OERTEL), are the backbone for the multi-faceted guitar play of new member RENE PALFFY and THOMAS BÄR’s effect-modified saxophone.
A truly monumental effort, recorded at Ballroom Studios / Dresden, produced by JOHANNES GERSTENGARBE and soundwise refined by REUBEN COHEN / LURSSEN MASTERING (CAT POWER, GEORGE HARRISON, IGGY POP, ELVIS COSTELLO, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) in Burbank, California. Vinyl cut by RASHAD BECKER at D&M, Berlin."

Thomas Bär – saxophone, guitar
René Pálffy – guitar, samples

Label:Kashual

Price: €10,00 EU (incl. VAT) €8,40 non-EU

"Chinatown, NYC’s Justin Tripp and Brain Close, a.k.a. Georgia, saddle up for Berlin’s promising yung Kashual Plastik label with their sights set on a stranger, sweetly dissonant future ‘floor in No Urtext, No Ursituation.

Leading on from the syncretic psychedelia of their Like Comment LP and corresponding remix 12” for Meakusma, they still cut a pair of freaky figures with four variegated styles written to a perfectly curdled, personalised sort of tuning system and meter.

The title cut scales and swirls around a motorik quickstep sounding like a microtonal take on Suicide, beside the screwed vortex of Excerpt I. And things get even odder on the flip with a squeezy mix of dry but sloshing drums and Ethiopiques-esque refrains in Middle East Broadway, whilst Westie veers off into the same dancehalls where you may find Rashad Becker’s notional species."

Experimental Electronic, Analog Synth, Breakbeats, Techno, Acid House, Misc Berlin
Price: €12,00 EU (incl. VAT) €10,08 non-EU

"The self-described “anxiety rhythm” of Berlin’s Wilted Woman, dissects the internal processes of technology through post-industrial glitch, punk, and cut-and-copy aesthetics. Barely audible vocals, transmissions, sine waves, 8-bit melodies and pots and pans-like beats intensify the effects of contemporary life on its audience by looking beyond the HD facades to the machines that made them.

The young New York native has already released a large catalog of music through a variety of cassette-based labels throughout the US and Europe and has toured extensively, which has garnered her attention from a thriving underground community as well as larger electronic arenas.

Her debut 12”, ‘Diary of a Woman,’ will be released by She Rocks! in 2017. It includes the "definitive recordings" of four live set classics and two more recent experiments (Lv, Trudeau (dither)), recorded over 2015-2016 in Providence, Montreal, and Berlin. For freaky heads only…"
