C-42 / Lo-Fi Ferro Cassette / NR Off / Falt 11

"Recordings made on October 20, 2017 during (h)ear #56. Recorded, edited and mastered by Mike Kramer.

Rinus Van Alebeek uses cassettes and cassette players. The performance marked the end of his 18 months stay in Poland.

The concert was recorded in the Betahuis in Heerlen (NL) on an evening organised by Theo Ploeg and Mike Kramer.

Some thoughts: "The making-of and the composition are identical, you can hear the sounds of tapes, changed by concentrated and ever moving hands, or you don't. Maybe you note nothing at all.

These live-recordings tend to throw me into the room where they took place, even more on headphones and with half-closed eyes. Indeed i am not listening to the field-recordings but to the composition of these itself. There are peaks and noises that are unexplained and nearly too loud, making me turning my head, as if - what? - as if i am a spectator right there, attending the concert, having someone coughing next to me, someone else talking, quitely though and than at the end cheerinshing the whole experience with a punctuated wave of applause.

Then i go out of the room and the concert is over, but due to the cassette i have in my hands i can take this event elsewhere and reconsider my hallucinations again.""
